Here is my counter to the mac's team.

Offense

QB - D.J. Shockley (gonna be interesting), Andrew Walter, Marques Tuiasosopo
RB - LaMont Jordan, Brian Calhoun or Jerious Norwood, Justin Fargas
WR - Randy Moss, Bethel Johnson, Travis Wilson
WR - Jerry Porter, Jerome Mathis
TE - Vernon Davis, Brandon Manumaleuna, Marcellus Rivers
LT - Robrt Gallery, Marcus McNeil
LG - Barry Sims, Rob Sims
C - Jake Grove, Chris White or Chris Chester
RG - Benji Olsen, Davin Joseph
RT - Marcus Johnson

Defence

LE - Marcus Speares
NT - Haloti Ngata, Terdell Sands, Tommy Kelly
RE - Derrick Burgess, Tamba Hali
LOLB - Bobby Carpenter
MLB - Danny Clark, Kirk Morrison, Jordan Beck or Leon Wiliams
ROLB - Thomas Howard (unless the Bowski wants Boss or has another preference)
CB - Justin Miller, NNamdi Asomugha, Antonio Cromartie or Jimmy Williams
CB - Fabien Washington, Stanford Routt
FS - Sean Taylor or Michael Huff or Roy Williams, Jason Allen
SS - Troy Polamalu or Jimmy Williams or Boss Bailey, Bernhard Pollard

Special Teams

K - Sebastian Janikowski, Stephen Gostkowski
P - Shane Lecter
KR/PR - Reggie Bush, Justin Miller, Bethel Johnson

OK, breakdown time. I suggest a veteran backup like Brad Johnson, D.J. Shockley is going to be a difficulty for a few years or at least poentially. I would like to use Lamont Jordan maybe even for a couple of years until Marshaw Lynch emerges or Adrian Peterson or I may bump Norwood up if he is any good.
WR wise I'm easy but I would like Travis Wilson on the team. Other than that the offense is down to the mac, I really don't mind. I do want Norwood and Wilson though, and a lack of Randal Williams.
For the defence. I demand Carpenter (only kidding), and suggest both Hali and Tapp in year 2, with one starting year 1. At DT I would like Ngata but am open for discussions.
LBs are a point for discussions as are the S. I would like Clark and Morrison in the centre with probably Beck backing up but again am easy really. OLB I would love to keep Thomas Howard but it depends on the Bowski's preference.
I am in turmoil over FS, I love Royski, have not rearly used Taylor but like Allen and Huff. Discussions needed.
SS wise it depends on the Mac, I would like Bernhard Pollard to back up whom ever the Mac chooses, but it's a discussion point again.
K wise I want my boy Gostkowski to replace Jani 'fat head' kowski after the1st year.
P gotta keep the bosh!
KR only kidding about Bush but it's group decision with the last say going to Bowski.

Regards

The Dogg

P.s. FB wise both Jones and Cooley sound good.

The 3-Unit 'chise!

Right, now you can't accuse me of being thorough. A sad loser maybe, but whatever. The Raiders franchise we inherit is obviously a mass. They have given out fat contracts (see Crockett, Zach and Sapp, Warren) to players who on Madden at least, are not worth the effort. So we'd need to address that. The players in bold are over priced veterans who should either be traded, or shown the door after the first season.
The players in italics are suggested new editions. They are mostly young and cheap. Obviously I can't speak for The Dogg's defensive scheme, but for my new offense I need a quick RB (Calhoun or Fargas), a quick TE (my boy Vernon) and a dynamic fullback who's quick and can catch passes (Cooley). I thought we might throw in Greg Jones as an experiment. The o-lineman have the raw attributes I'm looking for. As for the QB, you probably think I've gone mad, but I wanted a challenge, a project QB that has enough pace to get out of the pocket. I might bring in a strong armed veteran back-up if we are struggling.
On defense I guess we could make it as easy or as hard as we want. We could bring in Roy, Troy and Boss or have Huff, Bing and Kirk Morrison. Even if The Bowski doesn't want Morrison both he and Thomas Howard are young and quality and we should use them, possibly moving Morrison inside. I have had Champ Bailey (rated 99), Chris McAllister (96) and Will Peterson and Ike Taylor, they were all crap. Therefore we might as well use young CB's because they will get burned anyway . Jimmy Williams should fit somewhere in our plans with his combination of size, strength, speed and agility, he is quality.
The players in brackets are my rated rookies. You can also see their colleges and where they were drafted on my Steelers franchise. If we are going to avante Jordan, Adrian Peterson or Michael Bush would be fine editions. There is also plenty of talent at WR and all across the offensive line. The draft is much better offensively than defensively. Saying that, DE's Adam Carriker and Baraka Atkins are solid and worth the effort. There are a couple of gems though, (if they come out) MLB's Vince Hall and H.B. Blades. I picked both in the late rounds. Hall is especially good because he was only 21 when he came out and has speed and strength both in the 80's. The cornerback class is pretty ordinary.
If we draft Crosby, we can get rid of Big Head, who I believe is in the last year of his contract anyway. You can bleed the draft dry of talent in the late rounds because the computer is crap at it.
Have a look at what you think and post/let me know.

Gameplay Destruction by EA

It is official. EA Sports have created the most annoying Madden game ever. I can sweep 2002 under the rug because it was their second effort at the 'next gen' PS2 game. All other Maddens have had their problems, but the gameplay and depth in the franchise mode has always been very good.
However 2007 has to many annoying features (which I haven't experienced in the new Superstar mode) and has destroyed my love of playing this game. I despise that Tatum Bell runs through my defence when I; having Reggie Bush, struggle. My offensive line; despite now having the best line in the NFL because my old line was like a sieve, is dreadful and most annoyingly of all the CB situation. The CPU CBs make cuts at exactly the same time your WRs do, meaning it is quite difficult to find them 100% open, this is good it makes the game a challenge. But flip the coin and my CBs cut a few seconds after the CPU WRs, meaning they are wide open unless I sit over the top with a safety, trouble is thats boring, I like to be able to blitz with a FS or SS and not have the WR in 10 yards of space because DeAngelo Hall got bored and wandered off.

So therefore I am posting to confirm my retirement from Madden 2007 franchise mode.
